What do I need to make a video call?

Working Coffee
  1. A smartphone, laptop computer, desktop computer or tablet.

  2. A good connection to the internet. If you can watch a video online (e.g. YouTube) you can make a video call.

  3. A private, well-lit area where you will not be disturbed during the consultation.

  4. Web-camera, speakers and microphone (usually already built into laptops or mobile devices).

Video Calls are completed via our secure online platform, so there is no need to download apps or create an account, just enter the URL into your preferred web browser and you will be connected with your doctor at the time of your appointment.

If you are concerned in any way about your privacy and security, we would recommend requesting a telephone consultation rather than a video consultation.

What kinds of Consultations can be done & How Much does a Video Call Cost?

The video call is free (except for your internet usage). However the regular costs of a consultation still applies as does your standard Medicare rebates.

We have several consultation lengths available to cover different kinds of appointments, as well as Specialist appointments which will require a referral.

Long Consult = $170

Consultations that require over 40 minutes. This would include an initial endometriosis/adenomyosis investigation where no background information is provided via our questionnaire and pain diary.

Doctor with Files

Specialist = $150

Specialist appointments require a referral from one of our specialist GPs.

If you can, connect to a home or work wi=fi network to avoid using your mobile data allowance

How much internet data will you use?

A video consultation uses less than half of the data you would use while watching a YouTube video in High Definition - That’s roughly 230Mb on a mobile device, and 450Mb on a PC for a 20 minute call via Skype or FaceTime.

Data use is less on lower-speed internet connections, or if you’re using a less powerful computer, tablet, or smartphone, but these factors can also reduce the overall quality of the call.

If we encounter connection issues during a video consultation. Please hang up and wait for us to call you via the phone number you registered when you booked.

Telehealth Consultations available (AEST):

Monday to Saturday
8.00 am to 6.00 pm

Medicare rebates available for many consultation types.
